VAN BUREN – Ronald Bouchard, 74, died Oct. 15, 2010, at a Caribou hospital. He was born April 28, 1936, in Van Buren, the son of Damase and Hedridge (Ouellette) Bouchard. He was employed as a truck driver for many years. Ronald was a devoted family man, who even after his disabilities continued to help his sons operate Bouchard Trucking, and especially the Bouchard Christmas Tree Farm, Cyr Plantation. Whether is was running errands for truck parts, taking the second the seat on cross country trips, preparing the land to plant trees or plowing snow in the wee hours of the morning, he was always for ways to help out. His family truly appreciated all that he did for them. Ronald also worked for a number of years as an attendant at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, a job he truly enjoyed. He was an Army veteran and would always mention that her served during the Cold War. Ronald was a member of American Legion Post No. 147, Madawaska; a member-at-large of Maine Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 15020; a 33-year member of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 9; and a life member of the Blinded Veterans Association. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 8414, Grand Isle, for more than 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Juanita “June” (Doucette) Bouchard of Van Buren; three sons, James Bouchard and his wife, Louise, of Cyr Plantation, John Bouchard and his wife, Dawn, of Grand Falls, New Brunswick, and Allen Bouchard and his wife, Monique, of Hamlin; one daughter, Donna Neill and her husband, Robbie, of Hampden; one brother, Lawrence Bouchard and his wife, Louise, of Van Buren; four sisters, Regina Violette of Van Buren, Therese Dumond and husband, Chanel, of Darien, Conn., Laurette Gendreau of East Hartford, Conn., and Marcella Madore and husband, Eugene, of Coventry, Conn.; and eight grandchildren, Elise, Kylie, Jenna, Liza, Jessica, Mindy, Joel and Abby. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be at St. Gerard Cemetery, Grand Isle.
