VAN BUREN – Reginald M. Michaud, 85, died Oct. 19, 2010, at a Van Buren health care facility, after a short illness. He was born June 17, 1925, in Van Buren, son of Thomas J. and Eva (Cyr) Michaud. Reginald graduate from Van Buren Boys High School and was employed at various jobs as a master electrician most of his life. He was a supervisor for Van Buren Light and Power District for more than 25 years. He was instrumental in creating, planning and designing the Van Buren sub-stations. Reginald was involved in Boy Scout activities for many years. He was also a past member of Knights of Columbus Council 1635. In 1972, he retired from Van Buren Fire Department after serving 21 years as a member and officer. He enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Long Lake, as well as boating and canoeing the East branch of the Fish River Lakes chain. In his retirement he enjoyed reading French and English newspapers on a weekly basis. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Noella (Carroll) Michaud of Van Buren; two sons, Thomas Michaud of Van Buren and James Michaud and his wife, Renee, of Montreal; three daughters, Anne Violette and her husband, Daniel, of Van Buren, Loueen Michaud and her husband, Fabien, of Grand Falls, New Brunswick, and Mona Rogals and her husband, Michael, of Orwell, Vt.; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Lori and Tom Michaud, Jeffrey, Peggy and Brian Violette, Monique, Michelle and Mike Rogals; and six great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Bradley, Caitlyn and Dakota Feldman, Abbey and Jacob Violette. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Jerome and Paul Michaud; and his granddaughter, Kelly-Rose Michaud. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be at the parish cemetery.
