GUILFORD and DOVER-FOXCROFT – Robert L. Trafton, 62, died Oct. 21, 2010, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born April 21, 1948, in Bangor, the son of Marion Trafton Patterson. Bobby grew up on a small farm on Blaine Avenue, Guilford. He graduated from Piscataquis Community High School, Guilford, Class of 1967. He enjoyed baseball and swimming up at the “green bridge” in Abbot. An accident on Thanksgiving of 1968, left him paralyzed. He was cared for by his mother and grandmother at home for many years before entering Hibbard Nursing Home in September 1977. Bobby is survived by an aunt, Mildred Dunphy of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; nieces and nephews, Jay Rathburn and wife, Marion, of Lebanon, Jeana O’Malley of Massachusetts, Jarret Rathburn of South Carolina and James Rathburn of Kentucky. He will be sadly missed by the entire staff at Hibbard Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford, with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of service.
