BAR HARBOR – Ethel May Stanley, 77, died Oct. 19, 2010, at her residence. She was born Nov. 4, 1932, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Clarence B. and Alice E. (Williams) Stanley. Ethel enjoyed sewing and gardening and could always be seen at Jordan’s Restaurant, Bar Harbor. She worked at Bar Harbor Bank and Trust for several years and at Don’s Shop & Save. Ethel is survived by two sons, Stephen Stanley of Sullivan and Peter Stanley and wife, Penny, of Denver; two sisters, Margaret Bishop and Grace Grindle, both of Bar Harbor; grandchildren, Christopher Stanley and wife, Ellen, of Ellsworth, Michelle Perry and husband, Galen, of Phoenix, Amanda Douglass and husband, Jeremy, of El Paso, Texas, and Ryan Stanley and wife, Kari, of Meriden, Texas; three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor, with the Rev. Margaret Hemminger officiating.
