PRESQUE ISLE – William David Clark, 81, went home peacefully to be with the Lord late Sunday night, Oct. 24, 2010, after a long illness at a Presque Isle health care facility. He was born March 15, 1929, in Presque Isle, the son of Earl and Verna (Grant) Clark. He was a 1947 graduate of Presque Isle High School, and played basketball on the FFA team. Bill was a potato farmer for many years, delivered fuel for MPG for a number of years, and worked for Staples Farms, Presque Isle. Farming was his true passion. He enjoyed sports, especially high school basketball and playing golf. He was a member of Full Gospel Assembly, Presque Isle, and served many years as a Sunday school superintendent. Billy is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lona (Churchill) Clark; four sons and their families, Mike and Becky Clark of Scarborough and their children, Laurie Fisher and her husband, Jeff, of Mapleton and Landon Clark and his wife, Anuja, of San Francisco, Randy and Wendy Clark of Presque Isle and their children, Kelly Jo Clark of Presque Isle and Amanda Gahagan and her husband, Danny, of Limestone, Steve and Dee Clark of Presque Isle and their daughter, Joy Lynn Cropley and her husband, Greg Jr., of Washburn, and Peter and Rhoda Clark of Windsor, Conn.; four great-grandchildren, Michael Jeffrey, Kayla, Ashley and Shaila; a brother, Gerald Clark and his wife, Beryl, of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Gilbert; and two sisters, Phyllis Weaver and his twin sister, Betty Fournier. Special thanks from the family to all who had a part in his care at Presque Isle Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Full Gospel Assembly, Dudley Street, Presque Isle, with the Rev. Kevin Kierstead officiating. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to Full Gospel Assembly, P.O.
