OLD TOWN – Bessie A. Michaud, 88, passed away Oct. 24, 2010, with her family by her side. She was born Sept. 17, 1922, in Milford, the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Urquhart) Lenfest. Bessie loved life and found joy in helping others. She lived as a Jehovah Witness for 39 years, and helped her husband run two stores. Bessie is survived by her three sons, Donald J. Higgins and his fiancee, Penny, Alfred G. Higgins and Kevin O. Michaud and his fiancee, Jan; stepson, Wayne Michaud; sister, Nellie Clark; four grandchildren, Beverly Higgins, Jessica Hopkins, Sean Higgins and Christopher Higgins; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Higgins and Amber Higgins; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bessie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Aurelle Michaud; four sisters, Dora Bragg, Effie Jordan, Rena Komulainen and Annie Hatch; and her five brothers, John, Charles, William, Richard and George.
