CORINTH – Joyce E. (Connors) Donovan, 63, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010. Of those who depart this world, few may justly call themselves hero. True to the title, Joyce’s character was measured by her unparalleled generosity, zeal for life and compassion for others. Known to many as an “Everyday Angel,” she touched many lives with her exuberance, companionship and witty, off-the-hip comedy. Against perpetually insurmountable odds, she relentlessly persevered. Her tremendous ingenuity, a best-kept secret, enabled her to thrive in turmoil, giving her the wisdom to truly know and appreciate joy. History will mark her venerable strength of resolve and fervent display of courage as legendary. She is honorably survived by mother, Leila Connors Lowell; husband, Frederick Donovan; sisters, Judith Round and Martha Anderson; five children, Michelle Dustin, Mark and Michael Mckee, Zachary and Christine Duren; and one grandson, Connor McKee. In addition, she is survived by her three stepchildren, Paula Donovan, Dianne Bradley and Donna McClay; and six stepgrandchildren, Paul Williams and Kristina Williams, Willow Rose Bradley, Keith, Brandin and Britney McClay. A great-stepgranddaughter, Alexandria Rose Williams, was born Oct. 26, 2010. Friends and family are invited to a gathering 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Joyce’s family home, 98 Mill St., Orono, to share memories and stories of Joyce’s life. Interment will be held in the spring. Contributions in Joyce’s memory may be made to American Heart Association. Please visit www.ThompsonFuneralHomes.org.
