LIMESTONE – Carla “C.J.” Smith, 18, passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at a Caribou hospital. C.J. was born Aug. 20, 1992, in Boston, the daughter of Ernest and Regina (Macarthur) Smith. C.J. loved the sound of bells, music, and watching her sisters’ soccer and softball games. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, C.J. is survived by five sisters and their partners, Kayla Smith and Dustin Morgan of State College, Pa., Kassondra Smith and Adam Cormier of Van Buren, Eva Smith and Michael Cooper of Limestone, and Hunter Smith and Kennedi Smith of Limestone. She is also survived by her grandparents, Carl and Ella “Meme” Smith of Oakfield and Michael and Anne Tuller of Caribou. She leaves behind a niece and two nephews, Emma and Isaah Cooper of Limestone and Gavin Cormier of Van Buren; as well as several aunts and uncles; special friends, Duska Day and Coleen Hogan; many special friends at the Opportunity Training Center and the bus drivers of ARTS. C.J. was predeceased by her grandfather, Robert Macarthur. Friends and family may call 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Caribou, where a funeral service will begin 3 p.m. with Bishop Walt Elliot officiating. A reception will be held after funeral services at the church. Interment will be directly after the reception at Advent Cemetery, Limestone.
