DEXTER and PORTLAND – Ruth A. Garland, 94, died Nov. 2, 2010, at a Dexter health care facility. She was born Sept. 5, 1916, in Sangerville, the daughter of Harry and Iva (Cleaves) Garland. She worked at J.J. Nissen Baking Co., Portland, for 36 years. Ruth enjoyed gardening and spending time with her cats. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and their wives, Carl and Laura Garland, and Aubrey and Charlotte Garland; and two sisters, Reba Richards and her husband, Dana, and Evelyn Garland.
