PRESQUE ISLE – Ashton Ray Bartley 63, died Nov. 2, 2010, at a local hospital. He was born Dec. 16, 1946, in Presque Isle, the son of Ashton and Pauline (Nickerson) Bartley. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. Ray is survived by his longtime companion, Lisa Martell of Presque Isle; two sons, Christopher Bartley and his companion, Tammy Churchill, of Presque Isle, and Ashton Bartley III and his wife, Deborah, of Easton; daughters, April Bartley of Lakeland, Fla., and Mindy Nelson and her husband, Garry, of Washburn; grandchildren, Drew Bartley, Brooke Lovely, Luke Bartley, Jaida Beaulieu and Macie Bartley; a brother, Cary Bartley and his wife, Judy, of Southington, Conn.; sisters and their husbands, Dodie and Phil Beals of Presque Isle, Brenda and Raymond Saucier of Ashland, Donna and Winston Carter of Mapleton, Irene Tweedie of Deltona, Fla., Prudence Gray of East Vassalboro, and Sharon Madore of Presque Isle; stepchildren, Lisa Martell II, Dawn Terry and Roy and Tabby Martell; several stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Wayne and Albert Bartley; and sisters, Claudette Brewer, Gertrude Hawkins, Theora Porter and Joyce Duncan. There will be no calling hours. Memorial services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou, with Pastor Mark Babin officiating.
