NORWAY – Carroll S. Fogg, “Foggy,” 96, died Nov. 14, 2010, at Stevens Memorial Hospital, Norway. Carroll was born Sept. 13, 1914, in Cumberland, the son of Walter R. and Christina (Cram) Fogg. He attended Cumberland schools and served in the 70th Infantry Division during World War 11 in Europe. On Sept. 29, 1935, he married Katherine McAllister. For many years he worked for HP Hood & Son, Inc., throughout Maine until his retirement in 1972. He continued working with his son, Ray, for 10 years and then part time for Dead River, Norway, until the age of 90. He was active for many years as a member of Masonic Lodge No. 132, Waterford; the Shrine; Bear Mount Grange No. 62, South Waterford; and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fryeburg-Lovell. Until recently, he had the gift of good health and was able to drive up until his 96th birthday. Carroll was very active and enjoyed many activities with his companion, Doris McAllister, friends and family. He enjoyed traveling, watching the Boston Red Sox, playing cards, fishing, hunting, trapping, gardening and telling stories of his past experiences. He had a “secret” fishing spot in Northern Maine that he kept only for his family. He started an annual fishing and camping trip with his son, Ray, 45 years ago. This trip then went on to include his grandchildren and then grew to include his great-grandchildren. His last trip this past summer was very special to him at age 95. He had his son, four of his grandchildren and one of their wives, and six of his great-grandchildren with him when he said goodbye to his “secret” place. Carroll knew in his heart it was his last trip there, but the memories would last forever. In addition to his parents, Carroll was predeceased by his wife, Katherine, May 12, 1991; and his brothers and sisters. Carroll is survived by his two children, Marcia (Fogg) Glatt and her husband, Terry, of Levant and Ray Fogg and his wife, Dawn, of Glenburn; his six beloved grandchildren, Carol (Fogg) Kwaitkowsky and her husband, Colt, of Brewer, Jeff Fogg and his wife, Zetta, of Holden, Peter Fogg and his wife, Amy, of Holden, Garret Glatt and his wife, Crystal, of Levant, Tracy Glatt and his wife, Miranda, of Somerville and Cheryl Glatt of Levant; his much loved great-grandchildren, Shauna Glatt, Brian Glatt, Michalie Larabee, Amber Glatt, Lauren Fogg, Katherine Fogg, Jamie Fogg, Drew Fogg, Peyton Fogg and Ashton Kwaitkowsky; his beloved companion of many years, Doris McAllister of Norway; her two sons, Daniel McAllister and his wife, Sally, of Hampden and Conrad McAllister and his wife, Nancy, of Norway; several nieces and nephews. The family expresses sincere gratitude to staff at Norway Rehabilitation & Health Center, Stevens Memorial Hospital and to his many friends for the love they had for Carroll. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at Oxford Hills and Weston Funeral Services, 1037 Main St., Route 26, Oxford, with a funeral service 1 p.m. Interment will be at Number 4 Cemetery, Kimball Road, Lovell.
