PITTSFIELD – Eva M. Colson, 82, died peacefully Nov. 15, 2010, at Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility, Pittsfield. She was born Aug. 18, 1928, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Harris and Josephine (Mushero) Colson. She moved to Fitchburg, Mass., in 1950 and worked at the former Foster-Grant Sunglass Co., Leominster, Mass., for 39 years until she retired Aug. 19, 1990. She loved to play the organ and did so any chance she had. She also enjoyed baking biscuits for her friends. Eva was a devoted Catholic and became a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church immediately after moving to Pittsfield. Her kind and philanthropic nature made it important for her to donate to many organizations throughout her life, especially those that supported children and the less fortunate. She was predeceased by her dear friend, Gloria Cote, on Aug. 21, 1999. Eva has four siblings, Barbara Sargent, Geraldine Leary, Arthur Colson, and Howard Colson. She is remembered by close fiends, Philip and Diane Melanson, Royden and Rena Hodgins, Roland and Allison Salisbury, Alfred and Mildred Bachrach, Florence Stockwell, Caroline Hart and the staff at Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility, Pittsfield, and many members of St. Agnes. She was a devoted friend and will be sadly missed by all her knew her. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High St., Newport.
