NORTHFIELD, Vt., and WINTERPORT – Don L. Wilson, 66, died Nov. 11, 2010. Don was born Jan. 13, 1944, the son of Herbert and Katherine (Conant) Wilson. He worked most of his life in retail management and upon retirement, was a volunteer driver, but many will remember Don at The Drydock and Winterport Pizza. He liked to travel, mingling with the locals wherever he went for music, sights and food, and his many other interests. Not one to sit, and yet able to sit – with a cup of coffee, relaxed, silly and playing with the pets. People gravitated to Don, everyone did, because he was funny and cool, manly, generous, honest, handsome … He is survived by his children, David, Denyse and husband, Chris, and Desiree; his grandchildren, Culley, Simon, Cecil, Francine and Brady; his daughter-in-law, Linda; his former wife, Dale-Jean; and siblings, Lois, John, Pat, Connie, Gary and Mike. Don will also be remembered by John and Leslie, and loved and missed by all. He was predeceased by siblings, Pauline, Bill and Sandra; and by his sweetheart, Myrtle. A memorial will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Roxbury Congregational Church, Roxbury, Vt. Donations in Don’s name may be made to Roxbury Congregational Church, Roxbury Road, Roxbury, VT 05669. Online condolences may be made to www.minorfh.com.
