PASSADUMKEAG – Galen G. Gordon, 83, husband of Erlene Gordon, died Nov. 12, 2010, at a Boston hospital. He was born Oct. 25, 1927, in Chester, the son of George H. and Maude (Booker) Gordon. He served two years in the U.S. Army, attended school in Winn and was a past master Mason of Pine Tree Lodge No. 172, Mattawamkeag. “Grampie” Gordon enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever they visited the lake for swimming, fishing and boating, or at the farm, riding the lawn mower and golf cart, swimming and holiday parties. Surviving are his wife, Erlene; children, Roberta Priest, Charles Gordon and Bonnie, Joy and Timmy Jipson, and Cheryl and Frank Harvey; stepchildren, Michael and Bonnie Pickering, Debra and Addison Smith, Sharon Pickering and Jock, and Philip Jr. and Debbie; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Ruth Varney. Galen was predeceased by his son, Glen Gordon; nine brothers and sisters. There will be a gathering to celebrate Galen’s life 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Waterfront, Lincoln, where family and friends are encouraged to share their memories of him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Galen’s beloved sister, Mildred, who passed at a very young age, to the Children’s Fund at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 106, Winn, ME 04495.
