ETNA – Janice Lorraine Parsons, 59, loving wife and mother, died Nov. 15, 2010, surrounded by her family at a Bangor hospital. Janice was born Aug. 29, 1951, in Bangor, the daughter of Vincent and Glornie (Hitchcock) Conant. She graduated from Hermon High School, Class of 1969. Janice married Michael A. Parsons, Aug. 1, 1970. Janice was very active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts while her sons were growing up. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and cooking and baking for her family and friends. Janice was very proud of being the third generation to own and operate the family orchard on Route 2, Etna, known to all as Conant’s Orchard. Janice made many lifelong friends as she tended the apple stand. She was a member of Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce. She is survived by her parents, Vincent and “Peggie” Conant of Etna; her husband of 40 years, Michael A. Parsons of Etna; two sons and their wives, Michael and Kelli Parsons of Etna and Clinton and Danielle Parsons of Etna; their daughter, Toni A. Miller of Etna; one brother, Larry Conant of Etna; four grandchildren, Anthony Bourgoin, Taylor Kennedy, Garrett Miller and Ethan Parsons; a special “sister,” Margie Downing of Etna; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High St., Newport. A celebration of Janice’s Life will be conducted graveside 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at Highland Cemetery, Carmel, with the Rev. Bob Carlson officiating.
