SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Eugene C. Olsen, 79, died Nov. 23, 2010, at Mount Desert Island Hospital. He was born April 22, 1931, in Tremont, the son of Walter O. and Phoebe F. (Gordius) Olsen. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Penobscot Indian Nation. Eugene is survived by his beloved wife, Laura Lee (Deming) Olsen; two daughters, Joy L. Cooper and Sheryl J. Olsen, both of Tacoma, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Lamberton of Groton, Vt.; one brother, Walter O. Olsen Jr. of California; three sisters, Faith M. Mracek of Washington state, Caroline E. Nolen of Maine and Deborah L. Radice of Washington state; and stepgrandchildren, Taylor and Lauren Lamberton of Groton, Vt.
