PRESQUE ISLE – Franklin H. “Reb” Good, 88, passed away Nov. 26, 2010, after a brief stay at Presque Isle Nursing Home. Son of Harold “Ozzie” and Mina (Barnes) Good, he was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Fort Fairfield. A graduate of Presque Isle High School, he entered the U.S. Army during World War II, serving from 1943 to 1946 at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He then served six years in the Army Reserve. Among various employments, he was owner of the former Reb’s Ranch House on Main Street, and later retired in 1986 after working 12 years for the City of Presque Isle. He enjoyed more than 50 years membership in the Masonic Order, Trinity Lodge No. 130, and Order of the Eastern Star, Lunar Chapter No. 126. He was past worshipful master and past patron of those two organizations, as well as a former rainbow dad. He was also a member of Ray Goding Post No. 88, American Legion. With his partner, Millie, Reb was an avid square-dancer and served two years as president of Presque Isle Spud Shufflers. He enjoyed many years vacationing with family in his travel trailer and held a lifelong love of animals. Reb married his wife of 61 1/2 years, Mildred A. Harris, June 30, 1949. The couple has two daughters, Remillie A. Norsworthy of East Chapman and Kimberly E. Stout of East Syracuse, N.Y. He is also survived by several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; several aunts and uncles; and one son-in-law, Willard “Bill” Norsworthy. A memorial and celebration of his life will take place in the spring.
