SEAL COVE – Inez Millicent Lawton, 86, died Nov. 23, 2010, in Seal Cove. She was born Nov. 4, 1924, in Tremont, the daughter of Edwin and Elsie (Bridges) Lawson. After high school Inez went to college in Machias. She married Lewis in 1945, and they moved to Saugus, Mass., where they raised three children. After retirement from Transitron, she moved back to Maine in 1987. Inez loved to knit and do word puzzles. She is survived by her son, James Lewis Lawton and wife, Cindy, of Saugus, Mass.; her daughter, Janet G. Picariello and husband, Charles, of Swampscott, Mass.; two brothers, Edwin and wife, Elaine Lawson, of Bernard and Russell and wife, Mary Lawson, of Tremont; one sister, Jeannette Reed of Tremont; and grandchildren, Carrie Picariello, Jamie Siegrit and husband, Jay, William and Stephen Lawton. Inez was predeceased by a son, John E. Lawton; and by a sister, Barbara Slick. A service of remembrance will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Head of the Harbor Church, Bass Harbor, with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Buchanan officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Saugus, Mass. Contributions in Inez’s memory may be made to West Side Food Pantry, P.O. Box 767, Southwest Harbor, ME 04679.
