WINTERPORT and BOWDOINHAM – Edna B. Rowe, 96, wife of the late George F. Rowe, went home to be with her Lord Nov. 27, 2010. She was born Nov. 19, 1914, in Lyons, S.D., the daughter of Edmund A. and Mabel (Lee) Berven. Edna was a schoolteacher and lived in Bowdoinham for many years, where she helped her husband build their home. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Bowdoinham, for many years, sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school and Bible club. In 1985 she moved to Winterport to be near her daughter. While in Winterport, she was active in ladies Bible study at Winterport Baptist Church and as a volunteer in the school library. In later years Edna attended church and Bible studies at Church of the Open Door. Edna is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leona and Peter Caron of Winterport; one grandson, Jonathan Rowe Caron of Portland; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George, in August 1980; by brothers, Ray and Ordel; and by sisters, Florence, Goldie and Grace. A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at Church of the Open Door, 270 Main Road North, Hampden, with the Rev. Mark Fowler officiating.
