SEARSPORT and BARRE, Mass. – Robert R. Weaver, 77, formerly of Barre, Mass., died unexpectedly Nov. 26, 2010. Robert was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Allentown, Pa., son of the late Russell and Inez Weaver. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran and served on active duty during the Korean War. After being discharged, he graduated from Bucknell University in 1960. He joined Thom McCan Shoe Corp., where he was employed for 35 years as vice president of human resources. He was an active member of the community and served many years on the board of directors of Girls, Inc. After retiring in 1995, Bob and Elsie moved to Searsport, where they enjoyed their retirement on the ocean. Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He loved his horses and dogs. Bob enjoyed many activities such as gardening, motorcycling, bicycling, reading, kayaking, fishing and hunting. He truly lived his life to the fullest and will be missed dearly. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Weaver. Robert leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Elsie S. (Garger) Weaver; his daughter, Ann Baniukiewicz and son-in-law, Michael; three grandchildren, Jodi, Michel and Emily; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Marlee; and his beloved dog, Molly. A calling hour will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., Worcester, Mass., with a Mass 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester, Mass. Burial will be private.
