HOWLAND – Robert William “Bud” Lee, 78, husband of Thelma (Dugans) Lee, died Nov. 26, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Jan. 22, 1932, in Howland, the son of Lloyd and Irene (LaPlante) Lee. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne Division. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling in his younger years. In addition to his wife, Thelma of Howland, he is survived by three daughters, Denise Christensen and her husband, Rick, of Jacksonville, Fla., Louise Smith of Passadumkeag and Betsy Kidon and her husband, Ed, of Nantucket, Mass.; two brothers, James Lee of Howland and Lloyd Lee of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Jenny, Nick, Trent, Mercedes, Nelson and Grant; 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Carolyn Brown. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Richard Lee; and a son-in-law, Jim Smith. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, at Howland Methodist Church, where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Roxanne Carlson officiating.
