HAMPDEN and BANGOR – Jean (Cushing) Sanborn, 77, a resident of Bangor for many years and summer resident of East Grand Lake, Danforth, died Nov. 28, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 4, 1933, in Bangor, daughter of John J. and Margaret (Freeman) Cushing. Jean was employed for 20 years at Smith Ceramics Studio, Bangor. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Club, Brewer, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Old Town. Surviving, in addition to her husband, Donald F. Sanborn of Hampden, are two daughters, Tanis Shea and her husband, Paul, of Waterville and Margaret “Peggi” Bineau and her husband, Jeffrey, of Lisbon; one son, John A. Sanborn and his wife, Joy, of Scotland; six grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, Hilary, Scott, Roxanne and Alexis; two brothers, John “Joe” Cushing of Brewer and Robert Cushing of Florida; one sister, Kay Houle of New Hampshire; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by a brother, Richard Cushing. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor.
