BREWER – William Staten “Bill” Sargent, 71, passed away Nov. 27, 2010. He was born Aug. 31, 1939, in Portland, the son of Warren and Dorathy (Bonney) Sargent. Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961. He worked for Eastern Fine Paper, Grossman’s Hardware, Fairmount Hardware and 17 years for Safety Equipment. He was a member of Brewer Eagles Club and Bangor Gun Show Association, and was an avid gun and militaria collector. Surviving are his daughters, Deborah Gagnon and her husband, Kevin, and Barbara Jacques and her husband, Clayton; one son, William S. Sargent Jr.; grandchildren, William and Kristi Sargent, John Patchell, Adam Gagnon, Clayton “CJ” Jacques and Lucas Jacques; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Brady Sargent, Gianna Sargent and Raven Kirtsmith; and many close friends. He was predeceased by his parents; three daughters, Brenda, Becky Jo and Betty Ann; several aunts, uncles and cousins. At his request, a graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Seaside Cemetery, Blue Hill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in support of his family, care of Deborah Gagnon, 12 Spring St., Apt. No. 1, Brewer, ME 04412.
