EAGLE LAKE – Joseph F. Lausier, 93, passed away Dec. 1, 2010, at a Presque Isle health care facility. The oldest of 16 children, he was born March 25, 1917, in Lille, son of the late Thaddie and Annie (Bouchard) Lausier. He married Marie (Vaillancourt) Lausier, in April 1940, and together they had four children. He is survived by three children, Roy Lausier and his wife, Bobbie, of Fort Kent, Reno Lausier and his wife, Lori, of Watertown, Conn., and Rose Marie Levasseur and her husband, Wil, of Las Cruces, N.M.; eight grandchildren, Linda Gervais and her husband, Jim, Michele Martin and her husband, Albert, Chris Lausier and his wife, Shelly, Reno Lausier II and his wife, Amy, Chad Lausier and his wife, Jennifer, Scott Levasseur and his wife, Kelly, Sarah and her husband, John, and Alex Lausier; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Erin and Christopher Gervais, Lacy and Colby Martin, Bryce and Mallory Lausier, Reno III, Austin, Garrett Lausier, and Jack Levasseur; several nieces and nephews; four brothers, Pat, James, George and Raymond; three sisters, Edmay Daigle, Lorette Doucette and Constance Cyr; sister-in-law, Verna Lausier; and daughter-in-law, Janie Lausier of Eagle Lake, who was the wife of Joseph’s late son, Ralph. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Vaillancourt Lausier, in 1993; his son, Ralph, in 2004; a son-in-law, Phil Levasseur, in 1993; his sisters, Clamance, Jeanne and Bertha; and his brother, Maurice. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Family and friends may visit 8 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Daigle Funeral Home.
