SMYRNA MILLS and HOULTON – Rita E. Mayberry, 92, died Nov. 27, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born April 21, 1918, in Merrill, daughter of Fritz and Louella (Smart) Soule. Rita was a lifelong member of Smyrna Methodist Church where she was very active on many committees. She taught English and French for many years in Oakfield and Houlton schools. Rita is survived by two sons, Robert E. Mayberry Jr. and his wife, Tina, of San Francisco, and Richard F. Mayberry Sr. and Mary Splan of Zephyrhills, Fla.; three grandchildren, Richard F. Mayberry Jr., Echo Gustafson and Holly Brannen; two great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Crandall of Oakfield; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Mayberry. Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service 1 p.m. Saturday at Dunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Marilyn Rohdin officiating. Interment will be at Smyrna Mill Cemetery.
