HERMON and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Gladys Paine, 78, passed away Nov. 30, 2010. Gladys was born and raised on Mount Desert Island. She married Robert Paine Nov. 7, 1953. They have five children and owned many businesses together, including Spruce Grove Trailer Sales. She enjoyed spending time with her family at Green Lake, reading, knitting and putting puzzles together. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Walter and Ernest Campbell; a sister, Thelma Burgess; and her son, Robert Paine Jr. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Paine; her son, Jeffery Paine and wife, Cheryl, of Holden; daughter, Mary Thayer and husband, Maury, of Hermon; daughter, Cheryl Beckmann and husband, Russell, of Brewer; son, Walter Paine and wife, Marcela, of Levant; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Plans for a service will be announced at a later date.
