WEST TREMONT – Shirley J. Candage, loving wife of Rodney Candage, passed away peacefully Dec. 10, 2010, at home, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 15, 1940, daughter of Shirley H. and Vivian (Bennett) Galley. She is survived by her loving husband, Rodney; daughter, Sherri Butler and partner, David, of Seal Cove; sons, Clyde Harper Jr. and wife, Erica, of Bernard, and Clarence Harper of West Tremont; four grandchildren, Chris Harper and wife, Amy, Lucas Butler and wife, Rachel, all of Seal Cove, and Jodi and Jessie Harper of Bernard; and two great-grandchildren, Addison Harper and Abigail Butler. She will be sadly missed by special friends, Shirley Eaton, Ginny Harkins and all the girls she worked with at the Bar Harbor Inn throughout the last 20 years; a special cousin, Ira McElravy; and nephew and niece, Jimmy and Susan. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Clarence Galley and his daughter, Nancy and Clyde Galley; sister, Arlene Lawson and her son, Charles “Butchy”; ex-husband, Clyde Harper Sr.; and partner, Michael Johnston.
