The winners of the Downtown Bangor Storefront Decorating Contest were revealed Wednesday morning. First place went to Epic Sports on Central Street, with its window display designed by Lyndsey Marston.

The store’s windows included an enchanted forest; a traditional Christmas scene featuring gifts from years gone by, as well as the Grinch and his trusty dog, Max, relaxing by the fire; and a 6-foot-tall “Abominable Snowman.”

As the first-place winner, Epic Sports will receive $500 from the Downtown Bangor Partnership to use to support its marketing efforts.

Second place went to Giacomo’s on Main Street, with a “Charlie Brown Christmas” display painted by Joy Sinclair. Third place went to first-time winner Montes International Catering on Columbia Street, with a traditional display featuring lots of greenery and lights.

Giacomo’s will receive $300, and Montes will receive $200. Honorable mentions include Rebecca’s, Deja’vu Salon, Charles Inn, Central Street Farmhouse and Bella Luna.

The People’s Choice Award went to Henry’s Bridal Boutique and Formal Wear on Washington Street, also a newcomer to the contest. Henry’s Bridal’s display featured formal wear intermixed with wrapping paper formal ensembles.
