ABINGTON, Mass., and BANGOR – Ann C. Nichols died Dec. 20, 2010. She was born Jan. 1, 1912, the daughter of Solomon and Suzanne. Ann was a pioneer for women, being the first female dispatcher for the Maine State Police. At Peat, Marwick and Mitchell, she was the executive secretary for the senior partner for more than 25 years. She was recognized in Who’s Who for Most Outstanding Women. She played piano and loved classical music. Ann loved to travel, having visited Europe, the Middle East and most of the U.S. Ann was loved by family and will be greatly missed. She was the sister of Rose, Elias, Mary, Helen, John and Betty; loving aunt of Victoria, Noreen, Debbie, Alan Louie, Penny, Susie, Susan, Maryanne, Eddy Cheryl, Joey, Candy, Sandy and Sister Rosemary; and has many great-nieces and great-nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Thursday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, where friends are invited to meet with the family noon-1 p.m. Burial will be in the family lot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. Services under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Directors.
