PORTLAND, Maine — The story of a Maine teenager who spent two-days trapped in her car in a ravine is going to be featured on a national television show.
The Learning Channel plans to air a documentary titled “My Kid Survived,” which will include the story of Kourtney Thibeault of Topsham.
In November 2009, Thibeault was on her way home when she swerved to avoid a deer and ended up in a ravine. She was bleeding, had several bones broken and was unable to get out or reach her cell phone.
Her family feared she was a victim of a crime.
She was found when Tophsam Police officer Troy Garrison spotted a tire track heading off Route 196.
Thibeault’s mother Katherine tells the Portland Press Herald her daughter remains thankful and hardworking.
