PRESQUE ISLE – Lori L. Saunders, 43, passed away Dec. 29, 2010, after a courageous, brief battle with cancer. Lori was born Feb. 16, 1967, in Caribou. She was a hard worker and had the gift of making people smile that she had shown in her many years of being a waitress. Surviving, in addition to her companion, Michael Corey of Washburn, who provided the utmost, compassionate care for Lori during her illness, are her mother, Mary Saunders of Caribou; one son, Brian Saunders of Bangor; three brothers, Eugene Saunders of Caribou, Michael Saunders of Thompson, Conn., and Carroll Saunders Jr. of Glen-Allen, Va.; a granddaughter, Hannah; several nephews, Allen, Christopher and Zachary; a niece, Michaela; and special friends, Sherida and Joni. Lori also held special affection for Brandon and Brittany. Lori was predeceased by her father, Carroll Saunders, in 1999. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Holy Rosary Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, Caribou, with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. A reception will be after the funeral Mass at American Legion, Caribou. Please join us. Spring Interment will take place at the old Holy Rosary Cemetery, Caribou.
