HOULTON – Alberie J. Martin, 87, died Dec. 29, 2010, at a local health care facility. He was born May 22, 1923, in Fort Kent, the son of Joseph P. and Modeste (Bouchard) Martin. Alberie went into the Civilian Conservation Corps at an early age. He married Mattie (Hunter) Faulkner and helped raise her eight children. Alberie worked for Thompson Buick/Butler Motors, Houlton, for many years and worked on his own at his Houlton auto body shop. Alberie is survived by two brothers, Norman J. Martin of Ashland and Paul J. Martin of Kokomo, Ind.; two sisters, Rolande Woodward of Charles Town, W.Va., and Blanche Lajoie of New York; several stepchildren, many stepgrandchildren, great-stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Reginald and Harold Martin; and three sisters, Della Fuller, Lottie Blanchette and Theresa Garnblin. A graveside service at Saint Mary’s Cemetery will be announced in the spring.
