BANGOR – Wesley L. Wright, 84, died unexpectedly Dec. 7, 2010, at his home. He was born Oct. 11, 1926, in Gates County, North Carolina, the son of Walter C. and Ellen (Olmsted) Wright. After graduating from high school Wesley entered the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He attended Dusquene, Penn Military College, William and Mary, and graduated from Froehling and Robertson. After the war he married Elizabeth (Bette) Harwood. They settled in the Bangor area, where Wesley was employed by the Corps of Engineers at Dow Air Force Base, Bangor. He was employed in construction engineering until his retirement. Wesley is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Wright; one daughter, Debra Wright of Bangor; two sons, Francis Wright of Madeira Beach, Fla., and Kevin O. Wright and his wife, Catherine Shea Wright, and grandson, Wesley, and granddaughter, Kate, of College Station, Texas; one brother, Glenn Wright and his wife, Pat, of Troutville, Va.; and one sister, Gladys Presson of Roanoke, Va. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Durwood, Walter and Damon Wright; and two sisters, Ruth Byrd and Dorothy Ann Connelly.
