DALE CITY, Va. – Richard Joseph Bouchard, 67, formally of Silver Ridge, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at his residence. Born March 23, 1943, in Island Falls, he was the fourth of seven children born to Vernal and Alice (Glidden) Bouchard. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1961 and entered the U.S. Air Force shortly thereafter, serving from 1963 to 1967. After relocating to the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, he wed Gayle Nurene King Aug. 9, 1969, in Verona, N.Y. Mr. Bouchard was employed as a federal contractor with NASA at Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md. He was a Mason in good standing belonging to the Molunkus Lodge. Mr. Bouchard was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Gayle, in 2006. He is survived by three children, Michelle Bouchard of Triangle, Va., Suzanne Bouchard of Alexandria, Va., and Elliott Bouchard of Woodbridge, Va.; one grandchild, six siblings, several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Woodbridge, Va. Interment will be held privately at Valley View Cemetery, Oneida, N.Y.
