EAST WINN – Julie Lynn (Day) Krapf, 44, after fighting a courageous battle with emphysema, passed peacefully Jan. 10, 2011, with her loving family at her side at a Bangor hospital. Julie was born Oct. 24, 1966, in Lincoln, daughter of Lewis and Jean (Thurlow) Day. Julie was a certified nurse’s aide and served those in need of health care until she was forced to retire due to health problems. Julie brought joy to many people’s lives with her sense of humor and kind smile. She enjoyed camping, doing crafts and quilting. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family dearly. Julie will be sadly missed and leaves behind a loving son, Steven Krapf of East Winn; daughter, Jessica J. Krapf and her companion, Jimmy Delle-Chiaie, of Sanford; a granddaughter, Taylor DelleChiaie of Sanford, whom she loved dearly; her father, Lewis W. Day and stepmother, Evelyn; her mother, Jean and stepfather, Ray Fogg Sr.; sister, Teri and her husband, Gerald Cleary; brother, Lewis W. Day Jr.; stepsister, Valerie and her husband, Stephen Thurlow, all of East Winn; stepbrother, Philip Dill and his wife, Sherry, of Lincoln; her stepbrothers, Ray Fogg Jr. and his companion, Christine Gordon, Robert Fogg and his wife, Lisa, Michael Santos and his companion, Rose Pascale, all of Winn, and Kevin Santos of Eddington; the father of her children, Steven Krapf and his wife, Vicky, of Springfield; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. She also leaves behind a very special friend, Bruce Putnam of Lee. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Rollie and Glennis Thurlow and James and Clara Day. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Mark W. York officiating. Spring interment will be at Potter Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Mattawamkeag Fire and Rescue.
