ORONO – William Blanchard Jr., 83, passed away Jan. 13, 2011, with his family by his side at a local hospital. He was born March 23, 1927, son of William and Margaret (Doucette) Blanchard Sr. He is survived by six daughters, Roberta and Mike Violette of Indian Island, Rhoda Coffin of Old Town, Brenda DeRoche of Bangor, Rhonda Blanchard and her partner, Bill Sanipas, Billie Jean Beck of Stillwater, and Virginia and Mark Estes of Alton; one son, Byron Blanchard of Orono; 14 grandchildren, Michael and Jeremy Violette, Craig and Chris Coffin, Angela Gallant, Bub and Dave Sanipas, Heather, April, Nancy, Robert and Cassie Blanchard, Luke and Trever Estes; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Ruby (Haskell) Blanchard; his son, William III; and infant son, Norman. We thank Mike Rizzo for his care and compassion. His family thanks the staff at St. Joseph Hospital for making his last days comfortable and peaceful. There will be no visiting hours. Private services will be held at a later date.
