STEUBEN – Eva Belle Tracy, 92, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, with her family by her side in Ellsworth. She was born March 7, 1918, in Milbridge, daughter of the late John Augustus and Rena D. (Beal) Chipman. Eva attended local schools in Milbridge and married Harvard Joy Tracy Feb. 1, 1941. They lived in Steuben until Harvard’s illness, when she moved to Milbridge to be close to him. She moved to Sonogee in July 2010. Eva’s family was very close to her heart and she was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and aunt. She was a life member of Alcyone No. 71 Order of the Eastern Star, Milbridge. Eva was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Harvard, April 21, 2002; four brothers, Thurman, Philip, Milton and Bill; and two sisters, Marjorie Etter and Arelene Bean. She is survived by one son, Richard Tracy and friend, Sharon Mitchell, of Ellsworth; one daughter, Lillian Lounder and husband, Andrew, of Hancock; seven grandchildren, John Tracy, Brenda and husband, Wes Brown, Craig Tracy, Lisa and her husband, Scott Rogers, Andrew and his wife, Wanda Lounder, Diane Simmons, and Sally and her husband, Roland Stanley; 14 great-grandchildren, Heather and husband, Frank Quimby, Jeremy Tracy and wife, Joanne, Brian Jeffries and wife, Jen, Ashley Brown, Kristi, Caitlyn and Candice Tracy, Courtney Rogers, Brandy Cleaves, Ashley Orcutt, Alissa, Hollie and Sarah Stanley, and Alex Simmons; 14 great-great-grandchildren, Joey, Jacob, Emily and Paige Quimby, Stephanie, Samantha, Seananthan, Shreasa and Scott Tracy, Blake, Emily and Bryce Jefferies, Eva and Victor Tracy; one sister-in-law, Elaine Lowell and family; several nieces and nephews, many cousins; a former daughter-in-law, Helen Leighton; and granddaughter-in-law, Denise Prebble. Family and friends are invited to call 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Burial will be in the spring at Steuben Village Cemetery.
