LIMESTONE – Mabel Marie Hebert passed away peacefully Jan. 21, 2011, in Houlton, at age 77. A devoted wife, mother and friend to many, she was born Aug. 27, 1933, in Siegas, New Brunswick, to Joseph and Lena (Ouellette) LeFrancois. She married her wonderful husband, Romeo Hebert, and they shared 53 years together until he predeceased her in 2004. She was a lifelong resident of Limestone and retired in 1996 as the head cook in the elementary school after serving for many years. She always enjoyed her hobby of painting and was a longtime member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Jeannette Cones; and her brother, Reno LeFrancois. She is survived by Alcide LeFrancois and Grace of Magalia, Calif., O’Neil LeFrancois and Helen of Nevada City, Calif., Germaine Turcotte and Rene of Houlton, Florence Turcotte and Alfred of Palatine, Ill., Nelson LeFrancois and Cecelia of Tacoma, Wash., Robert LeFrancois and Georgette of McMinnville, Ore., Gilford LeFrancois and Joan of Nevada City, Calif., and Jean Deane and Wilfred of Buckfield. She is also survived by her children, Christine Hickey and Tom of Kent, Wash., and Earl Hebert and Terri of Nashua, N.H.; as well as grandchildren, Laurie Hickey of Pullman, Wash., and Juliana and Michael Hebert, both of Nashua, N.H. Perhaps most of all, she will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness and consideration. She was always thinking of ways to help people and doing things for them. A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone. A recitation of the rosary will precede the Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, in lieu of flowers.
