LINCOLN – Victor Allen Godbyr, 66, husband of Viena (Ireland) Godbyr, passed away Jan. 24, 2011, at his home. He was born Dec. 28, 1944, in Bangor, son of Ralph and Nora (Wakefield) Godbyr. Victor was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed bowling and motorcycling on his Goldwing, on which they made many trips and vacations with friends and co-workers. He was a hard worker who took great pride in his work at Lincoln Pulp and Paper for 35 years. Victor was always willing to lend a hand. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Viena, he is survived by a son, Ralph of Lincoln; a son, Andrew Carlson of Boston; a daughter, Connie Budge and Brent of Bradley; a daughter, Gail Smith of Portland; two grandchildren, Chelsea Benson of Millinocket and Allison Pinkham of North Anson; a brother, Frederick Godbyr and his wife, Marsha, of Pelham, N.H.; a sister, Annabelle Sutherland and her husband, Gene, of Lincoln; two special sisters-in-law, Charlotte Godbyr and Katherine Tait, both of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews; and a beloved dog, Taiya. He also leaves special friends, Don and Jeanette Richmond of Lincoln. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Carlson; brothers, George and James; a sister, Helen; and sister-in-law, Betty Savage.
