SCARBOROUGH – Alden “Bud” Tribou, 82, died peacefully Jan. 25, 2011, at Maine Veterans Home, Scarborough, of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was born May 6, 1928, in Bar Harbor, the son of Warren and Eleanor (Stafford) Tribou. Bud grew up in Bar Harbor, worked in banking in Bangor and moved to Miami, where he worked in banking and real estate. He loved Miami and enjoyed life there. Bud was an avid reader, crossword puzzle solver and a staunch believer in eating healthy. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor, and his family will miss his cheerful whistling. Bud was a kind and gentle man whom everybody liked. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He was predeceased by a brother, Warren “Scamp” Tribou. He is survived by his son, Warren; daughter, Cynthia Jane; his sister, Barbara Tribou Cotter and her husband, Joseph, of Cape Elizabeth; a sister-in-law, Edith Tribou of Clearwater, Fla.; nieces, Karen Tribou Noble and her husband, Hap Noble, of Kissimmee, Fla., and Jennifer Friedman and her husband, Jason, of Rossmoor, Calif.; and nephews, W. Michael Salter of Raleigh, N.C., Stephen Salter of Los Angeles, David Salter and his wife, Nancy, of Atlanta and James Salter and his wife, Melissa, of Portland. Burial will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
