SUN CITY CENTER, Fla., and GREENVILLE – Leon Stuart Andrews, 67, lost his long battle with heart disease Jan. 25, 2011, at his home in Sun City Center, Fla. He will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit and ever-ready wit. He was born Dec. 15, 1943, on a farm in Stow, the son of Angus and Dora (Jones) Andrews.

In 1946 he moved with his family to Greenville, where he attended Greenville schools. He later went to live with his sister, Mona Worster and brother-in-law, Fred Worster, in Connecticut, where he attended school, worked for A.C. Gilbert Co. and Howard Johnson’s restaurants, and raised a family. He and his wife relocated to Florida in 1999.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Andrews; daughter, Dierdre Russo; son, Jason Andrews; stepson, Alan Zupka; grandchildren, Charles and Samuel Russo; sisters, Derina Buzzell and Peggy Darke; and brother, Angus Andrews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mona Worster and Dorothy Smith; and brother, Rodney Rodrigue.
