NEW LIMERICK – Leon W. Botting, 51, known to all as Tinker, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, as a result of a snowmobile accident. He was born April 7, 1959, in Island Falls, the son of Leon F. And Judith (Gordon) Botting.
Tinker died doing what he loved and that was snowmobiling. He enjoyed owning and working on Farmall Tractors, of which he owned several. He was a farmer at heart and got great enjoyment out of his cows. The greatest of his love was family, especially his three grandchildren who adored their Papa.
He is survived by his father of Smyrna, mother of Island Falls; wife, Darlene (Sewell) Botting of New Limerick; son, Leon Jr. and his wife, Tracie, of Houlton; daughter, Billie-Jo Botting of New Limerick; brother, Harlan and his wife, Linda, of Patten; sisters, Laurie Botting of Lincoln, Darcy Botting of Patten and Karen Botting; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Amelia and Landon Botting; mother-in-law, Betty Sewell and her family; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his younger brother, F. Alan Botting.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home, where friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service. A time of fellowship and refreshments for family and friends will be held after the services at Linneus Sno-Sports Club House. Spring Interment will be at New Limerick Cemetery.
