ARCADIA, Fla., and MILFORD – Neil Alan Boyington Jr., 66, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, in Sarasota, Fla. Neil was a resident of Arcadia, Fla., for the past two winters, coming here from Milford. He was born Aug. 15, 1944, in Prentiss, son of Neil and Angie (Jipson) Boyington.
He retired from Georgia Pacific as a purchasing agent after 35 years of service. Neil was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and golfing. He was a member of Elks Lodge, Old Town, and Peace River Wood Carvers Club, Arcadia, Fla. He greatly enjoyed playing cards, regularly playing for years with old friends in Old Town and new friends in Arcadia, Fla.
Neil is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Saranne (White) Boyington; a son, Lance Boyington of Dallas; a daughter, Brandy and Scott Tagliareni of Verona, N.J.; three sisters, Barbara Neice, Suzanne and Douglas Worster, both of Arcadia, Fla., and Brenda and Herbert Dickey; a brother, Robert and Carolyn Boyington, both of Hermon; four very special grandchildren, Jacob and Annelise Boyington, and Phoebe and Reese Tagliareni; a sister-in-law, Susanne Costigan of Bangor; four aunts, one uncle, many cousins, eight nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and great-nephews and special friends too numerous to mention. He will also be lovingly remembered by his best friends of 41 years, Charles and Ida Jenkins of Old Town.
A visitation will be held 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 North Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, Fla., with a gathering afterward at Siesta Clubhouse, Acadia Village, Fla. For friends in Maine, a celebration of Neil’s life will be held at a later date.
