DEXTER – Irene Dube, 84, died Jan. 31, 2011, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Birkenhead, England, a daughter of George and Lilly (Plevin) Evans.

She married Gerald Dube, March 14, 1945. Irene was a cook in a school cafeteria for many years. Gerald and Irene moved to Dexter in 1985 to retire. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Church, Our Lady of the Snows Parish.

In addition to her husband of Dexter, she is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Krowka of Willington, Conn., Mary Gracewski of Windsor, Conn., and Rose Finn of East Windsor, Conn.; two brothers, Harold and Leonard Evans, both of Birkenhead, England; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by her son, Gerald “Pete” Dube.

There will be no services at this time. Her cremated remains will be scattered at sea to return home to England. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter. Those who wish may leave written condolences at
