GREENVILLE and AUGUSTA – Mary Taylor Madore, 88, formerly of Greenville, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was born April 16, 1922, in Vanceboro, daughter of John and Helena (McElioain) Taylor.

Mary attended Vanceboro schools. She married Henry Madore Sept. 5, 1944. Mary worked at Atlas Plywood Co., Greenville, for many years before moving on to Sander’s Store and then Wortman’s Store, Greenville. Mary also worked at Cottage Greenhouse for a short period of time and finished her career at Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital, putting in countless hours as a volunteer, as well as an employee. She especially enjoyed putting together the annual Christmas party for the residents of Charles A. Dean Nursing Home. Mary enjoyed her Bible group, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and especially spending time with her great-granddaughters.

Mary is survived by her son, Gerald H. Madore and his wife, Faith, of Manchester; granddaughters, Carla Noyes of Gardiner and Kimberly Madore of West Gardiner; great-granddaughters, Madyson Taylor Noyes and Tavia Katherine Noyes of Gardiner; niece, Stephanie Smith; nephews, Dennis Blair and Gary Blair; niece, Isla Hamill; and close family friend, Yolande Graham and her family. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Henry Madore; her parents; her son, Stephen; her daughter, Sharon; her sister, Valma Blair; and her brothers, Donald Taylor and Wallace Taylor. The family thanks the staff at Gray Birch for their loving care and concern for Mary.

Friends and family are invited to visit 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Church of the Open Bible, Greenville, where the funeral service will be held noon Tuesday. Interment will be in the spring at Greenville Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, those who desire may make memorial contributions to MaineGeneral HealthReach Hospice, P.O.
