DEXTER – Robert Charles Dudley, 90, died Feb. 13, 2011, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born Oct. 27, 1920, in Dexter, son of Walter and Ruth (Towle) Dudley.

He graduated from N.H. Fay High School, Class of 1939. Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II, and served in the South Pacific. After the war he moved to Hialeah, Fla., where he attended the University of Florida and met his future wife, Jeanne Ellsworth. Robert and Jeanne moved back to Maine in 1947, where he worked as a cattle dealer and later as a store manager for the Maine State Liquor Commission, retiring in 1988.

He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne (Ellsworth) Dudley, in 2005; and a son, Charles, in 1989. He is survived by a son, Robert Dudley of Dexter; three daughters, Julie Keyte and her companion, Thomas Goldsmith, of Dexter, Nancy Tasker and her husband, Richard, of Plymouth and Carla Witham and her husband, Barry, of Stetson; three grandchildren, Scott White, Caryl White and Philip Landry; and three great-grandchildren.
