HAMPDEN – Louis Stone, 83, passed away Feb. 13, 2011, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Oct. 8, 1927, in Milford, the son of Harold C. and M. Irene (Violette) Stone.

Louis was a graduate of Old Town High School, Class of 1946, and the University of Maine in 1952 with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture. He retired from Maine Department of Transportation as a landscape architect. Louis was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a life member of Whitcomb-Baker Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4633, Hampden.

Louis is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marilyn J. (Harper) Stone; daughter, Cynthia H. (Stone) Penney and her husband, James E. Penney, of Hampden; and grandchildren, Kenneth E. Penney and Kimberly L. Penney. He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Deborah L. (Stone) Pare; and by two brothers, Theodore and Robert Stone.

Family and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, with the Rev.
