BATON ROUGE, La., and ORRINGTON – Lawrence P. Greaney, 66, died Feb. 13, 2011, in Louisiana. He was born Feb. 29, 1944, in Houlton, the son of Arthur L. and Mary F. (Kirlin) Greaney.
Lawrence attended St. Mary’s School, Houlton, and was a graduate of Wurzburg Dependent High School, Wurzburg, Germany. He also attended the University of South Carolina and Ricker College, Houlton. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving three tours in Vietnam. He had been living in Louisiana for the last 17 years and was a partner with Industrial Craft Services, now called Craft Solutions, Baton Rouge, La.
He is survived by his mother, Mary F. Greaney of Orrington; one brother, Arthur Greaney and his wife, Brenda, of Phenix City, Ala.; four sisters, Karen and Sharon Greaney, both of Orrington, Krista Drew and her husband, Robert, of Houlton and Karla McGary and her husband, Randy, of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by his longtime friends, business partners and second family, Tom McAllister and his wife, Shelly, and their children, and Jenny Pendarvis, all of Louisiana.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa Church, South Main Street, Brewer. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. A time of fellowship will be held afterward at the parish center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
