DEER ISLE – Leonora “Tottie” (Hardy) Billings died Feb. 17, 2011, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born July 9, 1923, in Deer Isle, to Frank E. and Carrie (Haskell) Hardy.
She is survived by two daughters, Noreen Dunham and husband, George, of Louisville, Ky., and Saralyn Byard and husband, Lawrence “Butch,” of Sedgwick; two granddaughters, Miranda Byard of Ellsworth and Gale Boughman and husband, Ernest, of Lexington, S.C.; two grandsons, Matthew Byard and wife, Kortnie, of Sedgwick and Barry Dunham and fiancee, Amy Kudwa, of Washington, D.C.; two great-granddaughters, Emma Boughman of South Carolina and Melanie Byard of Sedgwick; one great-grandson, Alex Boughman of South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Doris Hardy of Deer Isle; a cousin, Dan Hardy and wife, Irene, of Deer Isle; many nieces, nephews and friends. Tottie was predeceased by her husband, Galen A. Billings, in 2001; five brothers, Granvillle, Phillip, Amos, Roger and Emery Hardy; and one sister, Margurite Hardy Whiffen.
