DOVER-FOXCROFT – Walter Henry Welcome, 82, died Feb. 17, 2011, at a Bangor hospital.
He was born March 21, 1928, in Billerica, Mass., son of Joseph and Mary (Ager) Welcome.
Walter attended school in Billerica, Mass., and later took classes at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a fine craftsman, mechanic and carpenter, and was known to buy old houses that he and his wife restored. He was also an artist and drew many fine sketches.
He was predeceased by his wife, Una (Marks) Welcome, in 2003. He is survived by a stepson, Ronald A. Coy Jr. of Peabody, Mass.; two daughters, Rhonda M. Welcome of Guilford and Sherry L. Beatham and her husband, Scott, of Sangerville; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Coy of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Carrie Bryk and her husband, Rich, of Massachusetts, Tyler Farnham, Ryan Farnham and Samantha Beatham, all of Sangerville, Joshua Flint of New Hampshire, Shannon Flint of Boothbay, Dustin Flint of Portland and Terran Welcome of Guilford; two great-granddaughters, Anna Bryk of Massachusetts and Khloe Farnham of Sangerville; a sister, Hazel Mariani of Massachusetts; several nieces, nephews and loving neighbors.
